Bachelors Completion for Associates of Applied Science Graduates
OCNE expands the opportunities for students within partner schools to receive the BS nursing degree. After they have graduated from an OCNE partner community college, students may transfer to OHSU School of Nursing for the final year of nursing coursework to receive the Bachelor’s of Science (BS) with a major in nursing degree.
Associates of Applied Science graduates of OCNE community college partner schools are eligible to seamlessly continue to the senior-level nursing curriculum and receive a Baccalaureate degree from Oregon Health & Science University. OCNE partner school graduates can join the RNBS Completion – Online Program, or join a campus cohort in Portland, Oregon, if the threshold to the total number of transfer students has been met. If the threshold has not been met, those students that applied to join the campus cohort will be offered to join the online completion option. The online completion option was specifically designed to provide flexibility for students located throughout Oregon that need to balance school work with family and employment responsibilities, and will provide them with an opportunity to continue to grow the depth and breadth of their nursing knowledge and skills, with in an online community.
As an OCNE partner school graduate you can seamlessly transition with your associate’s degree (AD) to the OHSU School of Nursing for your final year of nursing coursework to receive the Bachelor’s of Science (BS) with a major in nursing degree.
OCNE transition students are responsible for enrolling and transferring 87 credits of non-nursing coursework from other institutions of which 15 credits must be 300/400 level courses.

For current students in enrolled in nursing school at an OCNE community college, each OCNE partner school has a faculty advisor designated as a resource for students interested in post-AAS transition to OHSU. Program Directors can connect students with the advisor on their campus.
